What are some events which support the claim that America was an imperialist power?
March 22010
Between 1776 and WWII
and why do the events support the notion that America is an imperialist nation?
~To keep it short, I’ll just mention the Lakota, the Commanche, the Cherokee (and all of the rest of the Heathen Red Peril), Matthew Perry and the Black Ships and the Yellow Peril, the Inuit and the Blue Peril (it’s cold up there), Mexico and Texas and the Brown Peril, Cuba and the Philippines and the Tan Peril, Barbary and the Black Peril, Panama and the Green Peril (malaria will do that), Costa Rica and Nicaragua and the Orange Peril (United Fruit Company and their citrus). Well, you fill in the rest of the spectrum. The US is an equal opportunity conqueror and does not discriminate on the basis of color. But the exploits after WWII are even more obscene. But I am grateful that the moon was uninhabited; at least we’ve kept out exploitation and annihilation on a planetary level – so far.
