February 262010

My computer shut off in the middle of performing a system restore. Now I cant get the system restore to work .Is it necessary to reload the operating system to fix this ? Please help i don’t know what to try.

If you want to perform any repair to computer, ALWAYS use the safe mode so that it won’t get distract…

and I forgot SAFE MODE helps to continue any performing repair without the virus distract it…coz’ some virus attack some softwares that in SAFE MODE is turn off…

SAFE MODE only opens what it needs…not the whole software which in normal mode does…

February 242010

i planning on going away for 3 months and plan to do street performing. i was looking at getting a tourist visa or electronic visa. but don’t know if i’ll be able to do street performing on it. any one able to help?
if not what would i require. i’m not seeking employment since i’m self employed so what kind of visa would i need?

Definitly not..

A Tourist Visa will only let you be a tourist.

Australia, from what i have heard take it quite badly if someone from a different country takes jobs from the people already resident there!

How do i find out which colleges are the best for performing arts?

February 222010

I live in the Uk. I want to study performing arts, preferably Music and acting but i am not sure on which colleges are the best for my interests.

The most important way to find out about colleges are not from the interent, not from letters, not from brochures, but by VISITING THEM! Go take a look at the college. Talk to the students, talk to the professors, to recruiters from the college. Take the day and spend it on the campus. If you can get into a tour group, do it! You have to experience it first-hand. I know so many people who are unhappy with their college because they didn’t go see and experience the college. So go see the campus. That’s how you really know. Good luck!

What are some good performing arts schools?

February 182010

If anybody reading this has ever seen my other posts, I think you know that I want to be an actress. I’m not even in my freshman year yet, but at this point I really, strongly feel that this is what I want to do for a living. So I was wondering, what are some good performing arts colleges? Aside from Juliard, because, hell, that’s practically impossible to get into. I want to start looking into what grades I need to be accepted to different schools. Along with the original question, I was wondering what some good strategies for getting parts are? Hopefully that made sense, I’m a little jittery at the moment so my speech is a liitle off. Basically, what I’m asking is "How do you get cast?" For the mopst part, anyway. I’m most interested in acting, I’m weak when it comes to singing, but I’m otherwise musically inclined. I am a violist and I’m learning drums as well. Any tips, actors and actresses of yahoo? How did you make it to where you are now? Thank you for any answers.

So I got the reccomendation to look for a school around my area.. I’ll just say that I’m about an hour away from New York, by train, and I go there often. I live just about on the border of New York and Connecticut. So.. Yeah. If you can find any semi-local schools, thaht would be very helpful. Thank you, once again. I’ll probably add more later.

Look into NYU (also expensive and pretty hard to get into, but an AMAZING school).

also, look at CUNY schools. CUNY Brooklyn has an AMAZING program from what I’ve been told. I think Hunter has a program also. SUNY Fredonia has a good musical theatre program if that is what you are interested in – but idk about their straight acting program.

I’m currently attending SUNY Potsdam. I love my professors and the school is nice, however it lacks the cultural enrichment of a bigger city. You can recieve a good education at SUNY Potsdam for acting if you set out with teh intent to do so. I have participated in every acting activity I could concievably. While I really love Potsdam, I am counting down the days until I can start applying to grad schools in NYC.

best of luck with everything! maybe we’ll be seeing each other in three years in NYC

When performing a monologue in an audition where do you look?

February 112010

During an audition, when performing a monologue/ audition piece, where do you look. This confuses me, because I’ve heard that you should never look at your auditioners, but then where do you look when in the audition piece you’re adressing someone or the audience?

Most people look at the casting director. However, if there is a video camera, don’t look directly into it. I mean ideally if you stare down the directors that would be awkward. If your monologue requires you to look at someone then you should, but if you want to add, emotion and stuff maybe look away.
