what are some good contemporary christian songs for a female vocal soloist?
i am getting ready to be in a vocal competition and i need to pick a song! i am an alto, and the song HAS to be a christian song, preferably something contemporary. it doesnt have to necessarily be performed by a female artist, any song is fine, whether meant for female or male voice, because i can transpose. i can also play the piano along with it, or have a soundtrack. acappella is also an option, but not preferred. all suggestions are appreciated!
ANY natalie grant songs that came off of the next-to-last album are great! i havent heard the new one that come out on tuesday, so idk, but i sang something beatufil from the awaken cd at an event………i did kinda bad cuz my friend and i were both gonna do it and she dropped out like 3 days before which was really bad, but i was still singn! hope i helped!

I recently performed "Mary did you know" that was recorded by Kenny Rodgers, its a good alto piece, but since you can transpose, it shouldn’t be hard to put it where you are most comfortable. Its also a VERY VERY powerful piece. This would be the one that I would do if I were you.
Breath of Heaven (Mary’s song) by Amy Grant is a really good piece too, its a bit advanced, (well the version I did was) because the piano part doesn’t give you much support, but its a very powerful song if you sing it with enough passion.
