In an attempt to spice up their marriage, a couple dresses up as a pair of superheroes. But when they’re accidentally forced out of their apartment, they find themselves capable of saving much more than their relationship. Written and directed by Jeremy Kipp Walker and J. Anderson Mitchell, “Super Powers” won the Special Jury Prize at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival.

Jeremy Kipp Walker & J. Anderson Mitchell’s debut short film “Goodnight Bill” won the Jury Award for Best Short Film at the 2005 Austin Film Festival, the Audience Award for Best Live Action Film at the 2005 Palm Springs International Short Film Festival, Jury Award for Best Short Film at the 2005 New Orleans Film Festival and a Best of Fest Screenplay Award from the 2005 Rhode Island Film Festival. The acclaimed short screened at dozens of premiere film festivals on the 2005 circuit, including Los Angeles Film Festival, Cinequest, Hamptons International Film Festival and LA Shorts Fest and was one of fifty qualifying short films for the 79th Annual Academy Awards. Their follow up short film “Super Powers” won the Best Narrative Short Film Award at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival and screened at Cinequest, Nashville Film Festival, LA Shorts Fest, Palm Springs International Short Film Festival, Austin Film Festival, Hamptons International Film Festival and AFI Dallas. Their work has been distributed commercially on television, DVD and the Internet, where “Super Powers” has garnered over 1 million hits online.
Jeremy Kipp Walker (Producer / Co-Director) is a New York-based producer/director and partner at independent film production company Journeyman Pictures. His recent producing credits include Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden’s comedy It’s Kind of a Funny Story (Focus Features), starring Zach Galifianakis; Cold Souls (Samuel Goldwyn Films), starring Paul Giamatti, David Strathairn and Emily Watson; lauded baseball odyssey Sugar, released by Sony Pictures Classics and the much-celebrated drama Half Nelson (THINKFilm), for which Ryan Gosling received a 2007 Best Actor Academy Award nomination. Other recent credits include the Academy Award nominated “Maria Full of Grace” (Fine Line Features), lauded ensemble drama “Everyday People” (HBO Films), Mississippi Blues documentary “You See Me Laughin’” (Seventh Art Releasing), and the critically acclaimed drama “Angel Rodriguez” (HBO Films), starring Rachel Griffiths. Prior to Journeyman, Jeremy Kipp Walker worked at Woody Allen’s Perdido Productions on Mr. Allen’s features “The Curse of the Jade Scorpion” (DreamWorks) and “Hollywood Ending” (DreamWorks).
J. Anderson Mitchell (Writer / Co-Director) recently completed his MFA in dramatic writing at New York University’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts. A graduate of Bucknell University and London based Marymount Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, Mr. Mitchell has written numerous short and feature length screenplays.
