This was filmed inside Humanities 120 in June of 2010. The classroom was mainly used for English, General Studies, and Media courses. The classroom was a “lab class,” with about 25 student computer terminals arranged in rows. The instructor station was located in front of the blackboard.
In 2010, the old Humanities Building was replaced by the new Humanities and Student Service Center. It is slated for demolition soon.
This building, along with the former Math and Science Building, was one of the first permanent buildings on the Olympic College main campus. There is a dedication plaque on the inside wall giving the date of dedication, but this part of the building has been secured. So far as I know, planning and construction began on these structures in the late 1940s. The Math and Science Building was opened on June 12, 1953 and the Humanities Building opened sometime after this. Previous to the construction of these buildings, Olympic College classes were held at the old Bremerton High School.
