What is the best way to get from Union Station to the Field Museum?

Also what is the closest beach from the Museum? and how do we get there?

Cab it for about 10.00 depending on the traffic and congestion…If you have time to walk and the wweather is fine then plan on taking about 45 minutes to 1 hour to getting there…..The closest/nice beach is Oak street beach and teh best way there is either by cTA or taxi…It is at ground zero for downtown Chcago but still wuite a long long walk form teh Museum…Best to get public transpo or taxi up there…Beach is free by the way but for now there are no lifegurads and swimming is officically prohibited ( water way too cold anyway) Lifeguards ususally post just around Memeorial Day weekend for the first time

    Walk east on Jackson towards the lake. When you get to Columbus Drive, turn right (south) to get to Field Museum. A cab would cost $8-10.

    I’d go to North Ave. Beach or Oak St. Beach for the best views. Both are on Lake Shore Drive, a couple mi. north of Field Museum.

    Union Station to Field Museum is almost too far to walk. Spring a cab for $10
