If I start school in January and play college ball in October will i still be considered a Freshman ?

I might be starting college in January, so Im planning on playing college basketball in October….So my question is will I still be considered a Freshman for basketball ?

You will still be considered a freshman for basketball if you redshirt your spring semester in January 09 so you can play ball with 4 years of eligibility left in the Fall of 09. However, there are a number of football players who come to college in the spring semester for the first time and they don’t lose eligibility for doing so.
