What Contribution did Trotsky make to the October Revolution in Russia 1917. Also what did the people of Russia do to contribute to the Revolution?
Leon Trotsky played a fundamental role in the 1917 Russian Revolution, together with Lenin. There have been many attempts to distort and even to deny the role of Trotsky, especially on the part of the official Stalinist historians. But any reading of a serious history of the events in 1917 will show how Trotsky’s name was inseparable from that of Lenin. Trotsky played a particularly important role in building up the Red Army, without which the revolution would have been crushed.
We also recommend the following texts as additional reading on the subject:

All practical work in connection with the organisation of the uprising (Bolshevik Revolution) was done under the immediate direction of Comrade Trotsky, the President of the Petrograd Soviet. It can be stated with certainty that the Party is indebted primarily and principally to Comrade Trotsky for the rapid going over of the garrison to the side of the Soviet and the efficient manner in which the work of the Military Revolutionary Committee was organised."
