Why is it necessary to maintain a constant generator voltage when performing a frequency?

- Hi, this an AC circuit about THE SERIES RC Sinusoidal Response. Can you help me answer this question. Thank you very much.

Why is it necessary to maintain a constant generator voltage when performing a frequency respone? what would happen to the frequency response data if the generator voltage were allowed to vary?

You need a constant reference voltage for the measurements to be meaningful. The output voltage of the circuit under test will vary according to its frequency response. Without a constant voltage at the input you can not determine the effect of the circuit vs the effect of the varying input voltage and any readings would be meaningless.

RC circuit timing depends on voltage appling into it. Timing (frequency)varies as supply votage varies. Therefore,a constant voltage is required to produce a contant frequency.
