would i be able to do street performing in australia on a tourist visa?

i planning on going away for 3 months and plan to do street performing. i was looking at getting a tourist visa or electronic visa. but don’t know if i’ll be able to do street performing on it. any one able to help?
if not what would i require. i’m not seeking employment since i’m self employed so what kind of visa would i need?

Definitly not..

A Tourist Visa will only let you be a tourist.

Australia, from what i have heard take it quite badly if someone from a different country takes jobs from the people already resident there!

    Check this site out

Maybe you qualify for a working holiday visa?
Or maybe you qualify as a part of a cultural event?

Busking licenses are required, for this you need a Tax file number and public liability insurance! These differ between local councils, so every city you visit requires you to pay the local fee, but you can just risk it and if caught YOU WILL BE DEPORTED

Below is one local govt policy for busker’s

    Good Luck!

Yes as long as you make mention of it in your application. Tell them the truth up front, and they are more than willing to work with you.

    Just what Australia needs…foreign MIMES.

Since tourist visas are strictly for people visiting as "tourists," I would say that self-employment would be illegal.

Unless there is a work permit element in your visa you cannot perform.

People in Australia do not tolerate people coming to the country and working illegally or taking the mic in any way. You would be arrested, chucked in a detention centre and deported. People on the street would dob you in if they suspected you were foreign and were working without permission.
